Spring Break part 2...

For our second part of our trip we went to Palm Desert to visit Karen and Fred.  It was about a 4 hour drive from Phoenix to there.  I was a bit nervous considering how sick everyone had been.  Especially since Paige gets carsick a lot.  Plus David had also came down with it while we were in Arizona.  But off we went..

We met at one of the nicest outdoor restaurant.  They had a large green space for the kids to run

another camel ride.  According to Paige, if we are in the desert we ride a camel

It is possible

That I might be the worst blogger ever!!!  Oh well, lets try again.   We recently went on a week long spring break adventure.  We flew to Phoenix to stay with David's Dad.  Then drove to Palm Desert to stay with his mom.  Then went on to LA to go to Disneyland!  It was an interesting trip.  I had been sick a few days prior to leaving.  Then Logan had a bit of it. Next came Paige on the trip.  See where this is going?  Let me show you a few pictures of our Phoenix leg of the trip!

Super sick here.  You just can't tell

Paige had a chance to feed a Giraffe.

Logan is clearly thrilled to be at the zoo!

Riding a camel!

Worlds nicest playground

Went on a train ride.  Logan was a fan

Went for a little swim.
Side note, this floatie has been around the world.  It was Paige's.  It has been to Maui, Mexico twice, Arizona twice, and Lenexa a million times!  And its still holding strong.

SNOW!!!

So incase you missed the memo. We got some snow. Well a lot of snow. It was ridiculous. We were stuck inside for days. Lost power. It was all sorts of dramatic.
This was his first time sledding.  It didn't go to well with the first round of snow.  The second round he did great on a snow packed hill

Snow Deer in Shawnee Mission Park
Our trees didn't fair to well from the snow.  But better than most of our neighbors

An update...

So far I am giving myself a B grade on my goals this year.
Not doing very good blogging. Have decided to skip the running. Books are going pretty decent. And weight loss is going very well. I need to up my game on the blogging and pictures!

A lunch adventure

One of our goals for the year was to do more activities. So we decided to go to the new SeaLife Aquarium. We have been putting this off for about a year. Because, well honestly it gets really bad reviews. You cant take a double stroller. And supposedly its really small for the price. Finally we decided to just buck up and go. David works downtown, so we picked him up from his office building and off we went to Crown Center. We decided to eat at Frtizs. Don't even get me started on this place. They have the worst food. But yet we keep torturing ourselves and going there for the kids.

We then ventured over to the aquarium. I was shocked that there was nobody there. It was the coldest day of the year so far. And at one point I think we were the only people in there. We start going through. I am thinking this place is awesome. Very nice for KC. Enjoying the fish.. la de da...and then it was over. Wait? What? It took all of 25 min to go through. So then we did it again. So yeah I can see why people were complaining about the price vs size. And there is no way on earth I would buy a season pass. But it was cool to do as a one time thing.

If I put it out there...

maybe I will be more accountable.... I have been meaning to blog about this for a few weeks. We have some pretty lofty goals for the year this year. I thought I would share mine with you! 1. Read 13 books. I am have currently finished one. And I am working on the second. 2. Less electronic time. This goes hand in hand with number one. We have a new reading/relaxing area in our bedroom. We are shooting for 3 nights a week with no computers, ipads, etc. Its not going too well. 3. Do something new each month. With the kids or for myself. This month we are going to the new aquarium. Actually this Thursday. 4. Incorporate more vegetarian meals. I am on the hunt for some good ones. If you have any suggestions send them my way! 5. Lose 30 lbs. So far I am down about 8. So that's a pretty good start. The baby weight didn't come off with Logan like it did Paige. 6.Take 5 trips. So far we have 4 planned. So that's not too bad. California/Arizona, Omaha, Colorado, and the Bahamas. I also have 2 girls only trips planned! 7. Run 2 5ks. I know they are not big races. But they are big for me. Because I hate running. 8. Finish some picture books! 9. Oh and blog more. Obviously... I think I have a few more. But I can't think of them off the top of my head. Do you have any goals? If so what are they?

Christmas

Christmas was a little different this year. It was the first time we didn't travel back to visit my parents. They came here with my Granny. It was a good time. We decorated cookies, attended a Christmas Eve service, cooked a traditional meal. And it seems we opened presents for days. Here are a few pictures from the Holidays.
